Description
Quality English Leather with stainless steel fittings. The running martingale encourages the horse to lower its head, & helps prevent its head getting above the bit. It attaches to the girth & passes between the horses front legs, before dividing into two straps. Each of these straps has a small stainless steel ring at the end, through which each rein passes. The martingale is held in place with a 5/8" wide neck strap, & has a wider body on the hunt weight version. The split on the body of the martingale is lined (re-inforced) for extra strength.
Generally used with rubber rein stops, which are located on the rein between the bit & the ring.
